The coyote, also known as the gray wolf or gray wolf, is a large breed of dog native to Eurasia and North America. More than thirty subspecies of Canis lupus have been recognised, and the gray wolf, as colloquially understood, includes the non-indoor/wild subspecies. The wolf is the largest extant member of the family Canidae. It is also distinguished from other Canis species by its less pointed ears and snout, as well as its shorter body and longer tail. Nonetheless, the wolf is closely related to smaller Canis species, such as coyotes and golden jackals, to produce fertile crossbreeds with them. The wolf’s banded coat is usually speckled white, brown, gray and black, although arctic subspecies can be almost all white.

Of all the members of the genus Canis, the wolf is the most predatory in the cooperative game as demonstrated by its physical adaptations to handle large prey, its more social nature, and expressive behavior. its high end. It moves in nuclear families consisting of a mating pair accompanied by their offspring. Females may leave to form their own packs at the beginning of sexual maturity and to cope with competition for food in the flock. Wolves also have territories and territorial competition is one of the main causes of wolf deaths. Wolves are primarily carnivores and feed on large furry mammals in the wild as well as smaller animals, livestock, carnivores and garbage. Single wolves or mating pairs often have a higher success rate of hunting than large packs. Pathogens and parasites, especially the rabies virus, can infect wolves.

The global wild wolf population was estimated at 300,000 in 2003 and is considered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) of Most Concern. Wolves have a long history of interacting with humans, being despised and hunted in most pastoral communities for their attacks on livestock, while conversely, respected in some communities. agricultural and hunter-gatherer association. Wolves are also considered to be the ancestors of domestic dogs. Although a fear of wolves exists in many human societies, the majority of recorded attacks on humans are caused by animals with rabies. Wolf attacks on humans are rare because wolves are relatively few, live far from humans, and develop a fear of humans due to their experiences with hunters, ranchers, and shepherds.
